Olga Finkel is widely regarded and respected for her knowledge of gambling and technology law. She founded WH Law in 2006 which has progressed to become WH Partners.
Olga provides advice on strategic, commercial and regulatory matters to businesses in the Gaming, ICT, Financial Services and Real Estate industries. She is primarily involved in advising companies related to telecoms, software development, e-gaming, e-payments and e-money institutions, e-marketing, and e-auctions, among others. Her specialisation, backed by extensive experience, includes regulatory frameworks of telecoms, gambling, e-gambling, e-banking, e-signatures and e-commerce, technology transactions (procurement, outsourcing and transfer), software licensing, privacy and data security, cybercrime, intellectual property (including trademarks, copyright, databases, patents), contractual relationships in the technology field, consumer-facing matters, as well as issues arising out of cross-border nature of ICT-related businesses and transactions. Olga is also active in related areas of expertise, such as competition (antitrust) and corporate transactions (M&A).
Olga holds a Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Malta as well as a Master of Science degree in IT and Economics from the Academy of Economics, Kharkov, Ukraine. She was admitted to the Bar in Malta in 2001 and is a member of the Malta Chamber of Advocates. She is also a member of Society for Computers and Law (UK), of the International Technology Law Association (based in the US), as well as a member of the law council of advisers of the Gerson Lehrman Group, of the International Masters of Gaming Law and of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys.
Olga is listed by Who’s Who Legal as a leading IT lawyer as well as a leading Sports & Entertainment lawyer globally. She is ranked by Chambers & Partners Global as a leading Gaming & Gambling lawyer. She is also listed as a Malta Corporate/Commercial Foreign Expert for Ukraine; and Ukraine Corporate/M&A Foreign Expert Based in Malta by the same guide. Olga has also been listed as a recommended lawyer by the Legal 500 guide.
Olga is a lecturer in gaming law at the University of Malta and she practises law in English, Russian, Ukrainian and Maltese.
In her spare time, Olga enjoys the company of her daughters, dancing salsa, reading, playing piano and running marathons.
